SPENDLO SUPPORT

How can we help?

Answers about connecting accounts, tracking expenses, and keeping your financial data private.

About Spendlo

Spendlo is a simple iOS expense tracker that helps you see how much you've spent and where your money goes. With your permission, it uses Apple FinanceKit to read transactions from eligible accounts and organize spending into categories.

Common questions

How do I connect my accounts?

Open Spendlo and choose Connect Wallet. Follow Apple's authorization flow to share transactions from eligible financial accounts. Availability depends on your region, bank, and account.

Does Spendlo access every card in Apple Wallet?

No. Spendlo can only access supported financial accounts and transaction data that you explicitly authorize through FinanceKit. Not every Apple Pay card is eligible.

Can I track spending across multiple accounts?

Yes. Spendlo combines eligible spending transactions from the accounts you include. You can exclude an account from your totals in Settings.

How are purchases categorized?

Spendlo uses on-device merchant matching rules to group transactions into categories such as Groceries, Transport, and Bills. You can correct a category when it isn't right.

Why is a transaction missing or incorrect?

Some accounts or transactions may not be available through FinanceKit. Processing times, pending transactions, and merchant descriptions can also affect what appears. Try refreshing your accounts and checking the selected period and account filters.

Does Spendlo upload my transactions?

No. Spendlo processes and stores transaction data locally on your iPhone. It does not operate a backend for your financial data.

Can I use Spendlo without connecting Wallet?

You can open the app without granting FinanceKit access, but automatic transaction imports require an eligible account and your authorization.

Permissions & privacy

Spendlo only asks for financial data access to deliver the spending features you choose to use.

FinanceKit Access

Apple's authorization flow lets you choose which eligible accounts share financial data with Spendlo.

On-device Storage

Spendlo stores imported transactions, categories, and your preferences locally using SwiftData.

You can review or revoke financial-data access using Apple's available privacy controls. You can also choose which accounts count toward totals in Spendlo Settings.

Troubleshooting

Can't connect an account

Check whether your bank and account support FinanceKit, your iOS version is up to date, and authorization has been granted.

No spending is shown

Check the selected month, account inclusion settings, and whether any eligible transactions are available.

Wrong spending category

Open the transaction details and select the correct category. Your manual choice is saved locally.

App not responding correctly

Close and reopen Spendlo. Restart your iPhone if necessary and install the latest available iOS update.
